Surface Pattern Designer

My name is Marta Horodniczy

I am a pattern designer with extensive experience. My journey into design began during my university studies, where I graduated in design from the Academy of Fine Arts. Being an alumna of this institution heightened my sensitivity to the artistic aspects of nature, which I passionately incorporate into clothing and decorative patterns.

Each project I create starts with my original sketch - a personal interpretation of reality, blending my unique perspective with current trends. I thrive on working at the intersection of technical guidelines and creative expression, making every project a unique challenge and adventure.

Years of working in fabric wholesalers and printing houses allowed me to gain practical knowledge of technologies such as digital printing, flex, and screen printing. This experience has enabled me to adapt designs to the specific requirements of various production techniques. Collaborating with clients taught me to create patterns for diverse themes - children’s, women’s, and decorative - while utilizing tools like inspiration boards and mock-ups to better visualize outcomes for clients.

To further enhance my skills, I completed postgraduate studies in computer graphics and illustration. This allowed me to fully understand and better control the design processes.

Currently, I live on Madeira, where the surrounding nature serves as an endless source of inspiration. The picturesque landscapes of this island are reflected in my designs, adding a unique character to them.

I work using programs such as: Procreate, Adobe PhotoShop and Adobe Illustrator

If my approach to pattern design aligns with your vision, I warmly invite you to collaborate with me!
