Sweat Pink
Pink hibiscus after dark
This pattern was created from a fascination with the Japanese way of observing nature — quietly, attentively, with respect for form and rhythm. The hibiscus, usually associated with sunlight and warmth, appears here against a black background, becoming more intimate, calm, almost nocturnal.
Watercolor washes, a defined outline, and a rhythmic composition echo the aesthetics of ukiyo-e, translated into my own visual language: soft, feminine, and contemporary. I imagine this pattern flowing on dresses, kimonos, and silk tops, but also as wallpaper — like a fragment of a garden seen after dusk.
A pattern built on contrast: the delicacy of flowers and the depth of black.
